Item - Vintage Wood & Brass Mortise Marking Gauge made by Marples of Sheffield, England, Circa 1930-1950s; the tool is stamped to the centre block with the makers mark. Even though this a tool to be used we think that they make a lovely piece of sculptural type ornament.
