Item - Pair of "Cecil" Gentleman's Black Enamelled Spring Grip Dumb-bells complete with a box. The weights were produced by William Jones & Sons Ltd of Cecil Street Foundry, Birmingham, England, Circa 1920s. The Weights will come complete with a copy of an original advert from 1927 for "Cecil" Spring Grip Dumb Bells, showing the range that was available at the time; the advert also notes they are the actual makers since 1899, so could have actually been the foundry where 'Sandow' had his weights cast..

Weight - Dumbbells - 2330 grams, the box and booklet weighs 312g...so total weight unpacked is just under 3 kilogram
Condition - Weights are in Very Good Used Condition and fully usable complete with all five springs. The Box is not original but a period box with parts of an original advert attached to the outside (please refer to photos).
