Item - Vintage Souvenir Match Barrel made from the 19th Century teak of the Royal Navy's HMS Ganges (built 1821) after the ship was decommissioned and scraped in 1930 (please see all photos).

Other Interesting Points - HMS Ganges was built in Bombay in 1821 and was the last sailing ship to serve as a sea-going flagship....she was also known as Tenedos III, Indus V & Impregnable III. HMS Ganges was eventually broken up in Plymouth in 1930....with the teak being used to produce items such as this lovely little barrel.
