Item  - Vintage Cast Iron 56lb Trade/Market Shop Bar Weight, Circa 1930/50s; the base has it's lead insert set in and stamped with the Verification Marks (please see pics).

This weight is extremely heavy so would be ideal for Boat Ballast, Holding a Marquee/Gazebo down or even as a door stop...that door would not move.

Locality Stamp - 78 for Ramsgate

Date Stamp -  6/58 (June 1958) - This was the last time the weight was verified by Weights & Measures.... this does not mean the weight is not older as the lead was sometimes refilled so that another stamp could be stamped in...
