Item - Vintage Pottery Tankard produced by Ridgway Potteries of Staffordshire, England as part of their 'Coaching Days & Coaching Ways' range by Special Permission of Macmillan & Co, Circa 1930s.
This measured Half Pint Tankard is marked with the official weights & measures crown mark to the body, which includes the measure size, the Crown, the initials GR, and the Verification County number of 485 for Hanley, Stoke-on-Trent where it was checked for accuracy, this in turn collates with the maker Ridgway who was a Potter in the Potteries.
The tankard was produced to be used within a Tavern/Bar, etc in Stoke-On-Trent, England....hence the Weights & Measures Verification mark.
The tankard is transfer decorated with two scenes one titled 'Changing Horses' and 'Fresh Teams' (please see all photos)
