Other Interesting Points - Cornelius Chambers started Gaskell & Chambers in 1892; he then acquired the James Yates firm in 1902. The "Y" mark within a triangle is believed to be used on pieces made from the old James Yates moulds. The pewter business was sold to James Smellie Limited in the early 1970's, who unfortunately closed down in 1983.
