Item - Vintage Optic Pearl Patent Measure Optic by Gaskell & Chambers of Birmingham, Circa 1920/30s. This particular example is stamped with the Patent number 298589 which was granted in 1928 by the British Patents Office; it is also stamped with the Gaskell & Chambers name, serial number IM 14197.  

Maker - Gaskell & Chambers of Birmingham, England

Circa - 1920/30s

Construction -  Nickel Plated Metal

Country of Origin - England

Dimensions - 6.25" in length

Weight - 774 gram

Condition - Excellent Used Condition (please see all photos) 

Other Interesting Points - Cornelius Chambers started Gaskell & Chambers in 1892; he then acquired the James Yates firm in 1902. The business was sold to James Smellie Limited in the early 1970's, who unfortunately closed down in 1983.
