Other Interesting Points - This is a rather quirky item from the 1950s known as a Permapad and I believe marketed as a telphone/desk permanent note pad. It works simply by storing 6 rolls of paper within the top, which in turn feed through the framework and appear at the base, the note was written on the paper within the frames and then ripped of the front to be passed onto the recipient. The Permapad was made by Fonadek (Branson) Limited of Vivian Road, Birmingham, England who were noted as being suppliers of Telephone Amplifiers and also attaining a Royal Warrant from The Duke of Edinburgh. Fonadek also produced what is considered the first ever handsfree unit or speaker phone system which when combined with the reciever of a dial telephone allowed the user to continue tasks whilst making or recieving a call.
Original Fonadek Advert from 1956
