Vintage Kitchen Boxed Patent MilkOn Rotherham Glass Milk Bottle Cover CoID Design Centre London

Item - Vintage Patent Pending (Early Example) MilkOn Milk Bottle Cover in Original Box, Circa 1960/70s; this unusual design was recognised and selected for a Council of Industrial Design Award and was exhibited at the Design Centre in London.

The MilkOn was designed to put an end to ugly milk bottles (as noted to the box), a perfect gift suitable for home, caravans, boats, canteens and picnics...it was hygienic with it's unique twist close pourer cap that would avoid spillages and keep out dirt and flies...and it also fit into fridges with it's scratch resistant base that will not damage the fridge.

This particular example is in Traditional British Standard Size and comes complete with it's original box and Design Centre London Tag.

Stamps - Box printed with all details, the base of the MilkOn is also moulded with the following detail - MILKON PRODUCTS MADE IN ENGLAND PAT. PEND. ; the last part referring to Patent Pending...this is marked on products that are still awaiting their full patent registration from the British Patents Office....making this an early example (Please refer to photos)
