Other Interesting Points - Established in 1886 by William Morris & Luther Wilkinson at the Beatall Works in Burnley, Lancashire where they registered the 'Beatall' Trademark. The company  were manufactures of metal-ware originally producing tin water bottle and tin "snap" boxes which led to producing many items for the domestic home including Galvanised Dolly Tubs, Buckets, Cookware, Ovens, Boilers, etc.... but also produced items for commercial use including water fountains, chicken feeders, water toughs and lots more... William Morris left the business to become a full time Salvation Army Officer leaving Luther Wilkinson to be joined by his sons Luther, Cecil and George at the outbreak of the 1914-18 war – young Luther was in a reserved occupation, Sergeant Cecil Wilkinson was killed in France and George served in Greece. Luther Senior died in 1931 and left his controlling share to his son Luther. Although they remained friends throughout their lives, this situation did not suit 38 years old George Wilkinson and he sold his shares to his brother. He then went on to establish George Wilkinson (Burnley) Ltd and registered the trade mark ‘Progress’. The 'Progress' company is still in existence today....for more information and to see their new range please click here
