Item - Large Vintage Lancastrian Art Pottery Vase finished in a stunning mottled Cobalt Blue, Circa 1960/70s (please see all photos).

Condition - Excellent Used Condition with no chips or cracks
Other Interesting Points - Lancastrian Pottery comes from the Pilkingtons Royal Lancastrian Pottery Family which was originally established in 1889 in Clifton , Lancashire which lasted through to 1938.
The company then tried to restart again in 1948 but this only lasted approximately 10 years, then much later in 1972 after a takeover and purchase of the Lancastrian Pottery name by Poole Pottery it was attempted to restart the company, sadly this was to only last a few years.
The Vase above would have been produced during the early Seventies at General Street, Blackpool where local people worked alongside Poole decorators that had been sent up to work in Blackpool... if you look at the vase you will notice the resemblance to Poole 'Delphis' Shapes as Poole was using their blanks to be decorated for the Lancastrian Pottery.
