Item - Vintage Cast Iron Bottle Opener made to advertise John Smith's Magnet Ales, Circa 1930/40s.  

Maker - Unknown

Marks - The Opener is cast to one side with - JOHN SMITH'S and to the other side MAGNET ALES; the opener is also cast to the top of the mouth on one side with the Design Registration Number 811274 (this granted in 1937), and to the other side the Patent Number 466444 (this granted in 1938) giving us the date of Circa 1930/40s

Construction - Nickel Plated Cast Iron

Length - 3.625" in length
