Item - Vintage English Heavy Brass 'Shakespeare' Door Knocker, Circa 1920/30s; a lovely door knocker with a little bit of story... when we first looked at this example it reminded us of the similar 'Shakespeare' Nutcrackers, on closer inspection we noticed it is in fact one half of a nutcracker. When we looked to the rear of the front you can see the indents for the nuts to sit when cracking... this shows the maker was very clever, using some of the castings to make nutcrackers and some to make the knocker part of a door knocker (please see all pics).
