Other Interesting Points - Baekgaard Ltd. was a speciality gift & accessories company founded in 1951 by Danish immigrant Peer Baekgaard, initially starting with wooden items before expanding into upscale leather goods, travel accessories, and men's gifts. The business ceased trading in 2011 after the passing of the founder Peer Baekgaard, his wife Barbara Bradley Baekgaard, one of the co-founders of Vera Bradley Bags ran it for a short while, but chose to step away from the business as running two businesses was too demanding.
