Item - Art Deco Patent Firth Brearley Stainless Steel "Voluto" Fruit Knife by George Clarke of Sheffield England, Circa 1930s. This lovely little Fruit Knife is stamped to the handle with "VOLUTO" trade name and the patent number 398669 and Registration number 781599 (both of these granted 1933) to one side....the reverse of the handle is etched with the inscription "An Apple a Day". The Blade of the knife has George Clarke's makers mark and the detail Firth Brearley Stainless. The Knife also features a wonderful oval deco design to either side of the handle. Intended as a fruit knife but would possibly make a lovely letter opener.
