Item - Vintage Counter Top Advertising Mirror for H J Indestructible Socks, Circa 1950/60s; the mirror features a magnified plate so would be ideal for shaving/make-up, etc....
This type of mirror would stand on counter tops of gents/ladies outfitters for use by the customers and also to advertise a product. The Mirror also features a loop to the top so that it could be hung also...
The Mirror has a leatherette covering that is stamped to the front with the HJ diamond logo of the logo of the company HJ Socks which was originally established in the 19th Century and still in existence today still selling warm long lasting hosiery the original goal of the founder John Hall.
The indestructible sock was the brainchild of Peter Hall in 1958 and this mirror would have been most likely produced around the time to advertise the company.
The Mirror comes complete with a slip case though this is a later addition.
