Other Interesting Points - Leonard Heys Limited began life as the Saxon Radio Co., focusing on manufacturing the essential building blocks of early radio technology, ebonite radio panels & tubes, coils, transformers, and other associated wireless hardware in 1922 by Robert Heys in Blackpool.

Robert Heys was a expert within the field of early wireless radio, publishing "The Beginner's Guide To Wireless" in 1923, this book aimed at educating newcomers on building their own wireless sets.

The Saxon Co was a innovative and forwarding thinking company and did rather well through the 1920s; introducing the Saxon Three-Valve Loud Speaker Set, Saxon All-Electric 3-valve receiver and the Quadricoil all-valve tuner.

By the 1930s they became stockists of Baird Televisions and components, demonstrating their ability to adapt to changing market demands, around 1932:

Advertisements for Saxon-made products disappear from radio magazines, suggesting a shift in focus. Leonard Heys (Wholesale Only) radio parts distributors appear at the same address, hinting at a transition to wholesaling, during the 1930/40s they moved from manufacturing more towards wholesale offerings that included various radio receivers, electrical appliances, shavers, clocks, and accessories.

By the 1950s the company had evolved into Leonard Heys Ltd of Faraday House, Blackpool, Lancashire, England and stayed in business until late 1980s..
