Item - Vintage British Airways/HMP Slade Prison 'Naff Off' Enamel Mug, Circa 1970s (Please See All Pics).

This Mug was part of the merchandise from a British Airways Advertising Campaign in the 1970s, around this time there was a Prison Comedy Series on BBC called Porridge (1973-77) starring Ronnie Barker as 'Fletch', the character's was quite often heard exclaiming the words 'Naff-Off', his way of asking someone to go away.

Due to the success of the comedy series British Airways decided to use the 'Naff Off' phrase as part as an advertising campaign for Low Cost Holiday & Leisure Flights... this campaign also hailed a few promotional 'Prison Ware' items including a Chamber Pot, Mug, Plate, etc...

Marks - Printed to base with the Peacock Trademark and the size 9cm

Circa - 1970s

Construction - Enamel

Country of Origin - China

Dimensions - 3.5" in diameter (height 3.5")

Weight - 128 gram

Condition - Excellent Used Condition, only been displayed; there is though a slight flaw to the inside of the enamel rim where is has chipped a little.(please see all photos)
