Vintage 1978 Chrome 3 in 1 Crackerjack Nut Ice Lobster Nutcrackers C.L. Rimes Arthritis Rheumatism

Item - Vintage Boxed Chrome Plated 3 in 1 'Crackerjack' Nutcrackers made by C.L. Rimes Limited of 5 Zoar Street, Morley, Leeds, England, Dated 1978 and come complete with a copy of the original instructions for use.

The 'Crackerjack' Nutcrackers in our opinion are probably the best nutcrackers in the world, very solid, using a patented ratchet mechanism, first patented in 1947 in the UK (1951 US) that makes crushing nuts a dream. The nutcrackers can also be used for Crushing Ice and Opening Crab and Lobster Claws to get to the sweetest meat.

This particular pair of crackerjack nutcrackers are a 1978 example as later versions are marked with their date of production to the centre bar, the nutcrackers are also marked with the British Patent 592232 (granted 1947) and the US Patent 2526273 (granted 1951) to the top of the ratchet bar.

The nutcrackers work by placing the Nut between the ratchet bar and the head of the crackers, then squeezing the handle until the nut cracks, easy!, to re-open the gap just push ratchet bar down without squeezing the handle, this is described in more depth within the instructions.
