Item - Scarce Boxed Vintage Festival of Britain 1951 Exhibition Souvenir Book - Proud Heritage - A Portrait of Greatness by Michael Howard.
There is no publishing date on this volume (which comes in a box) but it was first published for The Festival of Britain (1951) as it has the Festival logo on the back cover. It has a dedication to 'His Majesty King George VI'. This copy is a 1953 reissue as it has a portrait of the then newly crowned Queen Elizabeth II on the box cover and also on the final page of the book. The 108 page book contains 50 notable figures in British History from Alfred the Great (846-901) through to David Lloyd George (1863-1945)and finishes with an epilogue by Winston Churchill.
