Item - Original Antique Patent Abbey Referee Whistle produced by Alfred De Courcy & Co of Birmingham, England in Excellent Used condition.
This Patent on this whistle refers to Patent Number 101303 of 1916 which is for the two-piece top. The internal diaphragm when viewed from the mouthpiece can be seen as a folded-down strip which was a patent that was granted to A De Courcy in 1913..
The Whistle was made by De Courcy for 'Abbey', which was a Sporting Goods Company of the time.
