Antique Vintage Bakelite 9.5mm Dekko London Patent Pending Cine Camera 1930s Art Deco Dallmeyer Lens

Item - Stunning Vintage Bakelite & Metal Bodied Dekko of London 9.5mm Cine/Still Camera, Circa 1934-37. This is a early version of this type of camera fitted with a Dallmeyer of London f/1.9-16 lens (Serial number 181284), the body of the camera is marked with the serial number 6856.

The camera features a clockwork motor which has variable speeds of eight, 16 and 64 frames per second as well as a single frame facility so could not only do family movies but could also take single shots...very clever for the time.

The Camera has a fabulous look to it with that typical art deco stepped fan design to the front...the cameras side door opens by unscrewing the knurled screw at the rear and pushing it in... the door then pops open to reveal the insides (similar to a Sony Walkman), revealing the original makers label and loading instructions for the film cartridge also known as a film charger.

The inside of the camera is also moulded with the details - MADE IN ENGLAND and PAT APPLIED FOR meaning when this camera was produced the patent had yet to be granted by The British Patents Office... therefore making this is a early version.

The Camera does come complete with a Pathescope Type H film cartridge but it is broken within (rattling noises and the film has come away from the spool...the camera was originally built to accept Type P but was adjusted at the factory to accept Type H Chargers.

The Camera is rather heavy for it's size weighing in at just over 1.3kg... a true piece of quality engineering (please see all photos)
