Item - Antique 1930 Provisional Patent Enots Distance Finder produced by Benton & Stone of Birmingham, England as used by Motorists in the 1930s.

This handy device works by moving the dials on the side to the relevant location (151 printed on the blind - full list below), the top one moves clockwise to make the blind within go upwards and the bottom one moves anti-clockwise to take the blind downwards; once the location is chosen you can then read the mileage against the locations stamped to the front (Please See All Pics)..

PAT 2998/30 COPYRIGHT ALL THE WAY BY ROAD, FERRIES ELIMINATED and finally a couple of cautionary lines that read - STOP - CAUTION - STOP DO NOT ROTATE BEYOND THIS MARK... to stop the user from breaking the blind of the rollers within.
