Item - Antique 1920s Hodgkinson Improved Electro-Medical Health Apparatus Machine in original box produced by Hodgkinson of Beverley Road, Chiswick, London, England.
This electrotherapy device used to treat nervous conditions and ailments by passing electric currents over damaged areas of the body, believed at the time to increase blood flow to cells, etc; this was to be proved incorrect and was later to be known as quack medicine or quack medical practice.
Other items were produced at the time including electro magneto coils (shocking coils), electro combs, etc... (please see pics).

Marks - Printed details to the box, stamped to the apparatus with HODGKINSON ELECTRO-MEDICAL APPARATUS CLASS "0" (please see all photos).
Circa - 1920/30s
Construction - Bakelite & Chrome Plated Metal
Country of Origin - England
Box Dimensions - 4.25" by 3.25" (2.125" in height)
Weight - 400 gram (in original box)
Condition - The Machine is in Excellent Used Condition, the box is in Good Used Condition...a little tatty but still complete (please see all photos)
