Item - Antique French Ceramic Photo Paint Plate depicting a little girl, Dated 1918 (please see all photos). Photo Paint plates was a technique pioneered around the beginning of the 20th Century, the process was to take a photographic image apply to a ceramic plate blank and then to paint around the image in oils to add a background to the studio shot image. This particular example was produced by the studio - Maison Ceady of Rue des Metres, Graville Ste., Honorine, France.
