Item - Antique Brass & Cast Steel Fleam (Tool for Blood Letting) stamped BAM, Circa 1880 (Please See All Pics).
A Fleam was a handheld sharp bladed tool used for bloodletting, either for treating illness in humans and animals or for other veterinary purposes like drawing blood for testing.
The fleam's blade was placed against a vein and then struck with a blood-stick or mallet to make a quick, clean incision.

Marks - Each Blade is stamped BAM, a Maltese Cross and CAST STEEL.
Circa - 1860-80s
Construction - Cast Steel Blades in a Brass Body.
