This is a lovely pair of onyx fronted cufflinks set with diamantes made by Stratton of England in Box, Circa 1960s. The Cufflinks come from Stratton's Patent Imitation range, but are a early example due to the shanks being casted with PAT. APP. for Patent Application, in other words before Patent was granted to Stratton for the process used, which was to take a base metal and treat it with a goldtone to give the impression of real gold shanks and clasps. The Cufflinks shanks are also cast with the Stratton patent range name - IMITATION, this range also had other products such as Compacts, Lipstick Holders, Tie Pins, Clips and Studs. The rears of the cufflinks have standard shanks and clasps (Please see all Photos) The Cufflinks faces measure approx 0.75" by 0.625" and are in Excellent Used Conditon. The Plain Box measures 2.875" by 2", with a depth of 0.825", and is Very Good Used Condition, though two of the corners have been taped up (please see photos).
