Item - Antique/Vintage Solid Brass 1905 Patent Pencil Compass, Circa 1900/10s; very slight damage to the tip of the point

Marks - Stamped to one leg with the details - PATENT and PATENT '05; the compass is also stamped with HELIX COMPASS to the pencil ring
Circa - 1900s-1910s
Construction - Solid Brass
Country of Origin - England
Dimensions - 3.625" in length (produce circles upto approx 7" in diameter)
Weight - 24 gram
Condition - Excellent Used Condition apart from the point being slightly damaged; this could be re-pointed but prefered to leave in condition as found due to the rarity of this example. If the compass is purchased as intended to use then let me know and will have the point resharpened (please see all photos)
Other Interesting Points - One of the first patented Helix compasses; the first ever patent registered by Helix was in 1894......Note the hollow part behind the pencil ring only found on early examples, the pivot screw nut is also stamped PATENT.
