Vintage Melissa Brass Ladies Powder Compact and Lipstick Boxed Set Circa 1950s

This is a fantastic ladies powder compact and lipstick holder made under the trademark name of  'Melissa' of England, Circa 1950s; complete in original fitted case. The front of the solid brass compact is decorated with a stars and tiger stripe design which is replicated on the lipstick holder. The compact is opened by pushing the button in on the front, and lifting the top to reveal the original mirror set into the inside of the top and inner lid, this inturn opens up to reveal the original used powder sifter. The Compact has no markings stamped in, though the lipstick holder is stamped with PROV. PAT MADE IN ENGLAND, this was for a provisional patent that is granted before the full patent and number are granted so shows it is a early example of this type (Please see all Photos). The Case measures 5.75" by 5.25", with a depth of 1.25" and is in Excellent Used Condition, the Powder Compact measures 3" in diameter and is in Excellent Used Conditon, the lipstick holder measures 2.25", with a diameter 0.75" and is also in Excellent condition appearing to have little or no use whatsoever.
