This is a rather unusual find, a vintage trail size Salve Ointment tin complete with contents, manufactured by the Monticello Drug Company of U.S.A. under the 666 trademark brand, Circa 1930s; the U.K. distributor was W.R. Carter., Limited of London, England. The tin is printed to the pull off lid with the information - 666 BRAND SALVE TRIAL SIZE 3d MF'G BY MONICELLO DRUG CO. U.S.A. FOR SALE BY ALL CHEMISTS W.R. CARTER LTD., LONDON, ENGLAND DISTRIBUTOR. The rear of the tin is also printed with text and contains the following details - FORMULA CAMPHOR 3.0 GRMS, MENTHOL 3.0 GRMS, THYMOL 0.25 GRMS, OIL TURPENTINE 3.0Cc, OIL EUCALYPTUS 1.0Cc , OIL CEDAR LEAF 1.0C.c. OIL NUTMEG 1.0C.c. PETROLATUM TO MAKE 100 GRMS. NO PROPRIETORY RIGHTS ARE CLAIMED IN THE PREPARATION OF THIS MEDICAMENT. THE COMMON LAW RIGHTS AND TRADE MARKS WILL BE PROTECTED (Please see all Photos). The Tin measures 1.25" in diameter (height of 0.25") and is in Very Good Used Conditon, though there is a small mark to the front and a small area of paint loss to the edge (please refer to photos).
