Vintage Kitchen Tool Spong & Co London Stainless 1937 Registered Design Tomato Slicer, Circa 1930s

This is a Hard to Find Vintage Spong & Co of London Stainless Tomato Slicer with maroon painted handle (well rubbed through use!), Circa 1930/40s. The tool has a stainless steel blade with serrated saw edge which is etched with the details - TOMATO SLICER REG. No. 809290 (this granted in 1937 by the British Patents Office) SPONG & Co. LONDON MADE IN ENGLAND SHEFFIELD STAINLESS, and the spong oval trademark. This tool can also be used to slice cucumbers, eggs, carrots, cheese and butter (Please see all photos). The Slicer measures 8.5" in length and is in Very Good Used Conditon, though the painted handle is well rubbed through use; this can either be re-painted or stripped back to the wood, and then either varnished or waxed.
