Vintage Desk Stapler Chrome Plated Rexel London No56 Reg Design Comet 1945 Patent, Circa 1940/50s

This is a Fully Working Original Chrome and Nickel Plated No.56 Series Comet Stapler made by Rexel Limited of London, England, Circa 1940/50s; the plastic base of the stapler is moulded with the details - REXEL 56. MADE IN ENGLAND REGISTERED DESIGN  PATENT NO. 18462/45 OTHER PATENTS PENDING, with the later part refering to the provisional patent that was granted in 1945 for this stapler. The stapler opens by pulling the circular brass fitting forward and pulling down the chrome plated COMET stamped piece downwards; the stapler still retains its original copper staples. Replacement Staples are still available for this stapler as they are 26/6 size and still available in all good stationery supply shops (Please see all photos). The Stapler measures 6.5" in length (3.25" in height) and is in Very Good Used Condition and fully working (please refer to photos).
