Vintage Advertising Leaf Soap Book Osman Towels Barlow & Jones Ltd Manchester Circa 1954

This is a unused book of ten leaf soaps produced to advertise Osman Towels, Circa 1954; the towels were made by Barlow & Jones Ltd. of Manchester, England and were claimed to 'Hug you Dry!'. The front of the leaf soap book is printed with the image of two young girls wrapped in Osman Towels, the book opens to reveal the ten leaf soap sheets unused and instructions for use. The inside is also printed with a Provisional British Patent Number for 1954, this tallys up with the advertisment printed to the front of the book as this was printed in magazines of the same year. The soap leafs themselves were produced by SAFODIK of Leeds, England with the manufactuers information printed to the lower part of the inside cover. The rear of the book is printed with the following text - ALL OSMAN TOWELS confirm to the high standard of Osman quality. Should an Osman towel not give satisfactory service under normal conditions and in normal use, the manufactuer will replace it. ALL YOU HAVE TO DO: Send the towel and the note of the year of purchase to BARLOW & JONES LIMITED 86 PRINCESS STREET MANCHESTER 1 or, if you are overseas to the shop from which it was bought (Please see all Photos).
