Very Rare Pair of Large Vintage Brandy Glasses Webb Corbett Edward VIII Coronation May 1937

This is a stunning pair of large (7.25" high, further dimensions below) brandy glasses made by the the famous glassmakers Webb & Corbett for the coronation of Edward VIII who became King after the death of his father King George V in January 1936, the coronation was to be held on the 12th May 1937, this was not to happen as he abdicated in December 1936 to marry the Amercian Wallis Simpson, and they became the Duke and Duchess of Windsor and George VI became King of England. The glasses are not only large in size but of the finest quality with their fronts engraved with the crown, royal crest and the date MAY 1937, all filled in with gold, and a fantastic ring from the perfect hand painted gold rim! The foot of both glasses are acid etched with the makers trademark of WEBB CORBETT ENGLAND. (Please see all Photos) Please note in two of the pictures we have added props to show the shear size of these glasses, the props are as follows - a standard sized bottle of wine and the other is a English Fifty Pence Coin! The Glasses are identical measuring 7.25" in height, 5" in diameter at rim and 4" in diameter at foot (weight approx 500 grams a Glass), both glasses are in Excellent Conditon with no chips or cracks and very little signs of use or age!! This type of large brandy glass from the Coronation in 1937 are extremly rare to find, so to find a matching pair is near on impossible, these are not your average souvenir coronation pieces.
