Definition - A Device or Tool for mesuring/checking the air pressure within a inflated tyre usually in pound force per square inch or bat. Most Gauges come in two types 'Pencil' or 'Dial'

Pencil tyre pressure gauges have been in use since the turn of the 20th Century as the development of pneumatic rubber tire created a need to test the pressure of tyres. Because many early versions of tyres had problems with leaking seals and their rubber components, it was more common to see a car owner with a pressure gauge to hand than it is today. Today's tyre pressure gauges are very similar to the vintage models though lack that certain build quality. Vintage Tyre Gauges can be used to get a quick reference to the approximate air pressure within +/- 2 psi and look fantastic as part of an original toolkit or adorning the dashboard of a cherished classic. The checking of tyre air pressures to manufactuers specifications during use will give a far better drive and save money with increased longevity. Vintage Tyre Pressuge Gauges come in varying shapes and sizes and have been used by many manufactuers as part of their toolkits for their vehicles including Rolls Royce, Bentley, Jaguar, Ford, Vauxhall, BMC (British Motor Corporation); they have also been used by larger companies GPO, RAF (for Plane Tyres),  AM (Air Ministry), Military, etc....
